Why Southern Indiana foundations crack and leak
Clark County's soils are mostly shallow clays over fissured limestone, and the river towns have flooded repeatedly, most severely in 1937 (FEMA). In Floyd County, rock is 5–25 feet down in many areas but about 100 feet down near the Ohio River (Indiana DNR). Add older housing (in New Albany, the median home was built in 1965, per Census ACS) and you get cracked walls, wet basements and damp crawl spaces.
Services
Foundation Repair
Foundation repair stabilizes a home's structure when soil movement, water or settling has damaged walls, slabs or footings.
Foundation Crack Repair
Thin vertical hairline cracks in poured concrete are often shrinkage and may only need sealing to stop water.
Basement Waterproofing
Basement waterproofing manages groundwater so it can't build pressure against your walls.
Crawl Space Repair
Crawl space repair covers structural fixes (support jacks, sistered joists, new beams) and moisture control (vapor barrier encapsulation, sealed vents, dehumidifier, drainage).
Bowing Wall Repair & Wall Bracing
Bowing walls happen when saturated or expanding soil pushes a basement wall inward.
Foundation Piers
Piers transfer a home's weight past weak soil to load-bearing strata or bedrock.
Concrete Leveling
Concrete leveling lifts sunken slabs by injecting material underneath.
Sump Pump Installation
A sump pump collects water from drain tile and pumps it away from your home.
Yard Drainage
Good drainage is the cheapest foundation protection.

Common questions
Who repairs foundations in Southern Indiana?
Several local and regional contractors serve Floyd, Clark and Harrison Counties. We're a free referral service that connects you with an independent local contractor. We don't do the work ourselves.
How do I know if my foundation is failing?
Watch for widening or horizontal cracks, sticking doors, sloping floors, bowing basement walls and water at the wall-floor joint. Any of these is worth an inspection.
Does the referral cost anything?
No. The referral is free to homeowners. Contractors may pay us for marketing. See How it works.
